Poppin' Adult Picnic with Skinny Pop

Note - I was asked by SkinnyPop to write this post. All opinions are my own!

Can you believe that summer is almost over? The official start of fall isn't until September 22nd, but to me, summer is over after Labor Day weekend! I'm holding onto these last few days of summer by spending as much time as I can outside, hitting the pool, and dining al freso. One of my favorite summer activities is having an impromptu adult picnic. What's better than grabbing some yummy snacks and cocktails and spending time basking in the sun?

A few days ago, I got two of my girlfriends together and we hit the park for some yummy cocktails and popcorn. We caught up on our lives and it was so fun to spend the afternoon with my girls.

When it comes to popcorn, I love SkinnyPop. My favorite is the original and the white cheddar.  SkinnyPop has no GMOs, gluten, or preservatives and uses the fewest, cleanest, and simplest ingredients. It's the perfect guilt free snack. Nothing goes better with popcorn than a cold cocktail. Lucky for us, SkinnyPop created a fun guide to pairing their popcorn's with yummy cocktails that you can make at home.

My girlfriends and I paired a Moscow Mule with SkinnyPop's Original popcorn. Two classics paired together. This combo worked together perfectly. The vodka acted as a nautral base for the popcorn's subtle flavors to build on. We also tried the Moscow Mule with the White Cheddar Popcorn which was just as delicious. The Moscow Mule is one of my favorite cocktails and my go-to at any bar. It's super easy to make at home also! All you need is ginger beer, vodka, and some limes.

Check out the rest of the cocktail and popcorn pairings below. What's your favorite? This weekend I plan on trying the coconut margarita with the jalapeno popcorn. I love putting together something sweet with something spicy!

Wedding Ready with Milly Bridal

Note: This is a sponsored post that I've been compensated for.  All opinions are my own!

With my wedding just a little more than 2 months away, all that's been on my mind has been wedding planning. There is just so much to do and now it's down to the nitty gritty. My free time has been spent hassling people for RSVPs (the not so fun part), tasting wedding cake (the fun part), and finalizing the little details. I have to say that the whole planning process has been a lot of fun. Stressful, but fun. My favorite part has been wedding dress shopping. Today I'm teaming up with Milly Bridal to show you my top wedding dress picks! Milly Bridal has a large collection of beautiful dresses at a great price point. They have a variety of different styles from A-line and ball gowns to mermaid and lace.

When shopping for a wedding gown, keep these tips in mind:

1). It's super important to be conscienous of the best silhouette for your body. Since I'm petite, I stayed away for ball gowns. I didn't want dresses to swallow me!

2). I also looked for a dress with a beautiful top. Since my top half will be in most of my pictures, I wanted a dress with a lot of detailing at the top.

3). Make sure you have a budget in mind and don't even try dresses on over your budget.

4). Start looking early!

5). Do your research so you know what you want.

6). Look outside the box and take the bridal stylists considerations into mind. The stylist may end up pulling a dress that you never thought you'd like.

Here are some of my favorite picks from Milly Bridal

I love this A-line scoop neck chiffon tulle gown. The detailing is beautiful!

This mermaid scoop neck gown is gorgeous

This A-line V-neck gown is perfect for the fashion forward bride!

This dress with a lace sweep train is simple, yet stunning

If you're a wedding guest, Milly Bridal has beautiful options that will make you the best dressed in the room (next to the bride, of course!). Their cheap homecoming dresses  can be repurposed for wedding guest dresses or any special occasion dresses. I'm loving this red hot two piece dress, this glam purple dress, and this black-tie wedding worthy long-sleeve lace dress.

Soft Summer Colors

During the summer months, I'm drawn to pastel colors. Light purples and pinks, Easter egg greens, pale blues, and subtle yellow colors. That's why I bought this beautiful Madewell top. I was in San Francisco for business travel a few days ago. I did my version of sightseeing and went to the mall across the street from where I was staying. I popped into Madewell, where they were having a SUPER sale. I actually have this same top in multiple colors and decided to get this mauve color. If you don't have any of Madewell's whisper cotton tanks, you have to get yourself some. They are SO comfortable and can be worn to work or on the weekends. I've worn this top with jeans and leggings and also dressed it up for the office with a skirt - like in today's post!

To dress up this simple tank and make it office appropriate, I wore it with a midi white eyelet skirt and white slide sandals. The earrings are also from Madewell and I fell in LOVE with how fun and unique they are. Obviously, you know I don't ever leave the house with lipstick, so I added a pop of color to my lips to complete my look.  During the summer months, most people dress a little bit more casual in the office. If I wore this in the fall or winter and needed to look a little bit more polished, I would add a fun blazer or cozy cardigan.

How is your week going? It's crazy that this summer is almost over. Time is JUST FLYING BY. It's less than three months till my wedding. I can't believe it.

Thanks so much for reading!

Lady in White

Hi Friends! I'm back after a long hiatus! It's been a crazy, crazy whirlwind the last few months. I really, really hope to get back to posting regularly. I'm also excited to be working with a few brands that I love, so keep an eye out for some fun posts!

This dress has two things I love and one thing I'm afraid to wear: I love the beautiful, white color and I love the lace pattern. The thing I'm afraid of: midi dresses! Midi dresses are dresses that fall just below the knee. For short girls like me, it's a hard look to pull off. On taller girls, it's beautiful!  Midi dresses are perfect for the office though. They're conservative and stylish. I probably wouldn't have bought this dress if it wasn't on super sale for like literally $4 at Forever 21. I'm glad I bought it though. I love the way it looks! Since the dress is sleeveless, I added a white blazer and matching white sandals. I did a bright red lip, added a cute pair of earrings, and put my hair in a simple ponytail.

How should you style a midi dress or skirt? Any way you want! Literally. I chose to wear mine with flat sandals, but this dress would look just as cute in heels or wedges. Make sure you select the right length! The dress shouldn't be at that awkward too-long-to-be-a-mini-skirt or too-short-to-be-a-maxi-skirt stage. Accentuate your waist! I did this with a cropped blazer, but you can also add a belt. Try and also wear the same or similar colors to create a monochromatic look. If you're petite like me, pick a midi dress that doesn't have a crazy pattern - this can make you look shorter than you are!

So, a LOT has been going on since my last post in May: I went to Japan (it was amazing, and there's a ton of posts on my Instagram if you'd like to see!), I went to California (again, ha!), and my bridesmaids threw me an amazing bachlorette party (pictures of that too on Instagram!). I have a ton of exciting events coming up like my bridal shower and of course, my WEDDING which is just 3 short months away! It's surreal.

Have a great week :)
