Game Day Style for the Office

Today I'm teaming up with TickPick to show you how to bring some game day spirit to the office!

Have you guys been keeping up with the NCAA basketball games? I've got a bracket with a few friends and have been watching the games. My bracket is doing pretty well (Thanks to my man!) and I've got UNC winning. Fingers crossed.

It's tough to show your team spirit while following your office dress code. I paired my UNC shirt with jeans and booties for a casual Friday outfit. I added a blazer to make my outfit look more professional. The red lip (as usual) and a statement necklace completed my look! Slip the blazer off for a perfect outfit for post-work drinks and swap the booties out for some heels if you're sitting court-side to watch the game. The key to wearing your teams gear to the office is to do it subtly :)

TickPick is where smart fans buy tickets. The site has all sorts of tickets available, from sports to concerts, you can buy 'em at TickPick. They're a no-fee ticket marketplace. What I love about TickPick is that you can name your price. If you don't like what tickets are selling for, you can turn the tables and let the sellers know what price you're willing to pay. TickPick is the number one source for NCAA basketball tickets. So, if you're on the hunt for some seats, be sure to check out TickPick for the best deals and download the mobile app by clicking here. Keep up with TickPick on Twitter and Instagram and like them on Facebook!

All opinions are my own. Thank you to TickPick for inviting me to collaborate on this post!

Ask the Office Fashionista: Adding oomph

Here's a letter I received via email from one of my readers. If you're seeking fashion advice, click here to find out how to be featured! Check out past "Ask the Office Fashionista" questions here, here, and here.

Dear Office Fashionista,

I'm a jeans and t-shirt girl through and through. Since my office is super casual, I wear jeans and t-shirts to work everyday. Lately, I feel like I've been in a fashion rut. I want to dress up my look (for post work outings and meetings) without altering my style. How can I add a little pizazz to my everyday look without changing my casual style? Please help!

Jeans and T-Shirt Girl

Dear Jeans and T-Shirt Girl,

There are plenty of ways you can dress up a casual jeans and t-shirt both for the office and for post-work outings!

1). Accessorize! One of my favorite ways to dress up a t-shirt for the office is to add a statement necklace. A really fun and bold necklace can go a long way.
2). Lipstick. Add a bold red lip and you'll instantly look polished.
3). Add a scarf or a fun belt to give your outfit that extra oomph.
4). Add a blazer. It'll make you look more professional. Sometimes if I don't feel like actually wearing the blazer, I'll tie it over my shoulders.
5). Play around with tucks. Tuck your shirt fully in, do a half tuck.
6). Other ideas - Add a statement purse, colorful heels, a leather jacket, a beanie or a fedora.

Here are some fun outfit ideas I've put together for you. Click each picture for outfit details and information on where to purchase.

optical illusion

This top is actually ONE TOP... not two! How's that for an optical illusion?

I love pieces like this. I love outfits that make it look like you tried harder than you actually did. And I love the checkered print underneath the sweater. The sweater is super warm and comfortable... Perfect for the chilly day I first wore the sweater. I paired the sweater/top (I don't know what to call it!) with skinny black pants, tall boots, and (obviously) a bold lip. It was one of those days where my hair just wasn't cooperating so I put it in a low ponytail with this cute clip I snagged at J.Crew. I love dressing up basic ponytails.

Can you believe that the first day of Spring is on Sunday? I'm loving these warmer temperatures, but I just heard it's supposed to snow on Sunday! Snow on the first day of Spring? How ironic is that?

What are you up to this weekend? I'll be doing some wedding planning (looking up photographers!) and celebrating my man's birthday. We're getting pizza and I can't wait to give him his gifts.

Have a great weekend and thanks so much for reading :)

Casual Stripes

Like every other person on the planet, my favorite day of the week is Friday. Fridays mean the weekend, two days to sleep in and veg out. Fridays also mean I get to dress a little more casually to work! It's so nice to throw on a pair of jeans in the morning.

When dressing for work on Fridays, I always try to still looked polished and put together. Jeans, a cute structured top and flats make for a perfect Friday outfit. I always swipe on some lipstick and I'm good to go!

Have you had a hard time dressing for this weather? I definitely have. Don't get me wrong - I totally love that I don't have to bundle up to walk from the parking lot to the office.... BUT it's really difficult to figure out what to wear! It's a little too cold for bare legs, but too warm for tights. Too warm  for sweaters but too cold for short sleeves. What's a girl to do? Plus, I still have some winter pieces in my closet that I haven't shared on the blog yet that I'm dying to post about!

Happy Friday Eve! Thanks so much for reading :)
