go-to dress

This is my "go-to" dress for important meetings. It's on the longer side, sophisticated, doesn't show too much skin, and is a soft, subtle color. I usually wear this dress with heels, but this time, I felt like wearing it with booties. Probably because my toes look horrendous. It's time for a pedicure.

I think it's super important for every working girl to have a dress like this in her closet. A dress you feel comfortable in when meeting CEO's and CFO's that still reflects your personal style! I added this fun necklace and a red lip for a little extra oomph. Every outfit needs that little extra oomph, right?

It's almost Friday! What are your plans for this weekend? I plan on relaxing a ton. I'm really looking forward to sleeping in and eating veggies off the grill. Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for reading :)

Double Denim

I mentioned before that I've been trying to style old pieces in my closet and trying to stop constantly buying new clothes. The first part is going well. The second part - not so much. It's hard to not shop! I hope I can get better at this...

I bought this vest at a thrift store a long time ago. It was a few sizes too big, but I loved it so I bought it anyway and figured I could make it work. That was five years ago and this is the first time I'm wearing the vest. I love the way it pulls my basic outfit together. This outfit is perfect for a laid back, casual Friday in the office. When I was getting dressed, I knew my outfit was missing something. The vest added a cool, edgy vibe...

Oh, and I need to tell you guys about my shoes. How CUTE are they? They're smoking slippers, so comfortable and so stylish. I've been wearing them with everything. I'm sure you'll be seeing a LOT more of them on the blog!

I've been MIA because I was in San Francisco for work last week. I fell in love with the city, the people, the sights, and the food. It was my first time traveling by myself and I loved it. I missed having a travel companion (usually it's my boyfriend), but it was nice seeing a city by myself on my own schedule. I can't wait to go back. Have a wonderful weekend, stay cool, and thanks for reading :)

put a bow on it!

Have you ever bought something for someone and then kept it for yourself? That was me with this headband. I totally had the intentions to give it to Jessi, but I fell in love with it and kept it for myself. It's just so stinkin' cute.

Yes, I am wearing a crop top. Yes, I wore the crop top to work. See?! You can totally make a crop top work for the office. I love wearing pieces that aren't office appropriate on their own. When worn the right way, a crop top can definitely be worn to the office. And that's a pleather crop top I'm wearing, by the way! Crop tops are fine for the office if you're covered up. Wear 'em with high-waist pants, a sweater, or over a long sleeve shirt and you're good to go.

What is with this cold and rainy weather we're having?! I literally am wearing boots, a sweater, and jeans as I type this... I'm finding it hard to believe that it's June. It feels like November. I'm really looking forward to this weekend. I'm heading to California! It's for a work trip, but I've never been and I'm excited :)

Have a wonderful week and thanks for reading!
