You're Gonna Hear Me Roar

Do you have that one dress that you never know what to wear with? The dress that you want to wear over and over again, but don't have options to wear it with? That's me with this dress. I didn't want to wear it with a cardigan or blazer, because I didn't want to cover up the collar. I couldn't wear it with a collared shirt, because this dress already has a collar. My whites didn't match the white of the dress, and the black didn't look right. Enter, leopard. The greatest piece of clothing to wear when you need a neutral. My leopard top above is actually a crop top. So, yes, you CAN wear crop tops to the office!

That's SO Monday

That's so Monday. That's what I said to myself this Monday morning when I put this outfit on. Monday's are made for tons and tons of coffee, long cardigans and pants that feel like sweatpants. I feel like there should be a policy that says wearing sweatpants to the office on Mondays are perfectly acceptable.

Okay, so about this necklace. It weighs about 5 pounds and the spikes on it can probably take an eye out.... but I'm obsessed with it. It's edgy and so cool. I'm in love.

Happy Monday, my friends! The weekend is almost here.

Hello Spring!

Happy Spring, my friends! Today is the first day of Spring and the weather in New York couldn't be lovelier. My fingers and toes are crossed that the temperatures don't dip down again. Spring, I hope you're here to stay. Stay forever!

To kick off the first day of Spring, I obviously had to share an outfit with flowers on it.  I usually lay out my clothes the night before to make my mornings easier and so I can snooze longer. But, I had a serious crisis with this cardigan. My original plan was to wear the cardigan with chambray, but it didn't look right. I must have put on like 10 things to wear under it....until I thought, whatever, I'm wearing it by itself. I'm happy with the naked cardigan.

And that's my I'm-thrilled-I'm-not-wearing-a-winter-coat face (and Free Rita's day face).

Cut - it - Out !

The best kinds of outfits are the ones that you can just throw on and still look put together. I always make sure I have these key pieces in my closet. For me, these key pieces include (but are definitely not limited to) black button downs, a pair of well fitted skinny jeans, and black booties. I love classics with a twist. And this is definitely what this shirt is.

How great is the back of this shirt? Plain in the front, party in the back! I wore this shirt last summer a lot and would always end up with the funniest tan lines! Luckily, my office is on the casual side, so I wear this top to work. But, for a meeting or if I needed to dress a little more conservatively, I'd throw a blazer on for 9-5 and then go blazer-free for after work drinks :)

I'm off to play with some crazy glue and try and piece the above necklace together. It got caught in my hair, I gave it a pull and it broke!

Reds and Bows

You guys, these tights. I am just obsessed. The little bows are just so adorable. Of course, I picked like, the coldest day ever to wear these tights. I think it was like 10 degrees in New York. And as you can probably tell, these tights are really sheer! Needless to say, I was freezing. But it was SO WORTH IT because these tights totally made the outfit.

I've had this skirt forever. It's my go-to office look for Valentines Day and Christmas (or any other holiday that involves wearing red..) AND. The skirt has pockets. I love sticking my hands in my pockets while I'm walking around the office. Is that weird?

The wonderful backdrop is the stairwell of my office building. It was just too cold to go outside to take pictures!

The ShirtDress

I’ve been wanting to break out this shirtdress for the longest time. It's really more of a spring/summer dress since it's so light, but... this brutal winter has left me so tired of constantly wearing sweaters. I love this shirt dress because it’s SO versatile – It pretty much goes with everything. I can wear it with bold tights, bare legs, leggings, patterned tights .. or even tuck it into dress pants of jeans if I wanted to.

I paired the shirt dress with striped tights that I snagged at H&M recently, a pair of old booties, and an old necklace. I love that the necklace is super grungy looking. I really think it balances out the softness of the dress out. My friends call this necklace my bike chain necklace. I guess the description fits!

I am just obsessed with this lipstick. I saw it at CVS and I’m seriously in love with Revlon’s lipstick. They never do me wrong! Sometimes drugstore lipstick is the way to go. I love the brightness of this color and how it just pops – It’s super flattering. PLUS, I hardly have to reapply. If you’re looking for a fun color, this is it.
