Winter Green

Happy Hump Day, Happy Friday Eve-Eve, Happy Wednesday! Whatever you call it, the weekend is almost here and I couldn't be happier. This week has been long, slow, and cold. So cold, so snowy.  Nothing new for New Jersey in February, though...

I'm traveling for work soon though and headed to warmer temps!  Not warm enough to break out my shorts, but warm enough to not wear a marshmallow coat outside.

Now on to my outfit. I was on Lulu's a few months ago, looking for a dress to wear to a wedding, and I stumbled on these pants. So, I bought them, obviously. I love the warm and winter-y color. I love the sweater material that the pants are made out of and I love that they're slightly baggy. Most of all, I love that they're a little different, and not something you'd see someone wearing everyday. Especially not at the office. 😉

The pants I'm wearing are called culottes. They're longer than shorts but shorter than your regular pants. Here's some advice for wearing culottes, especially if you're petite like me - definitely wear heels with your culottes to elongate your legs. If you're not into heels, try pointy toe flats. Also, make sure you're wearing a fitted top and tuck it in to accentuate your waist. Do you have culottes?

I kept my look mostly simple with a black turtleneck, nude heels, and a dark lipstick. I added some yellow earrings for an extra pop of color.

Thank you so much for reading! Have a great week!

Staying Sane with Paperless Post

How frigid are the temperatures by you? As I'm writing this, it's snowing outside. It's beautiful and looks like a snow globe. I just love snow. Ask me how I feel about snow when I have to drive in it in an hour, though!

I haven't posted in awhile. Things have been crazy and life has been so insane. Right before the holidays were a tough time for my family. Through it all, I was thankful to have the best support system of friends and family.

I'm thankful that things are starting to calm down for me a little bit... but not for long!

February is looking to be crazy with events and so are the next few months. Even though the holidays are over, the parties aren't! With so many upcoming events and zero time to mail out invitations, I use Paperless Post for invitations! For our upcoming Superbowl party this weekend, I'll be using Paperless Posts' flyer option where I can send an invitation via text message and use fun GIF's and stickers. I really love this Touchdown invite! How cute is it?

If you're newly engaged (shout out to my engaged besties, you know who you are!), Paperless Post will be your best friend. Being a newlywed, (wait, am I still a newlywed?) I had wedding-related events every weekend and always used Paperless Post for almost every upcoming event my family held - Engagement party, rehearsal dinner, etc!

Keep yourself sane and use Paperless Post for all your invite needs!

Now... on to my outfit! These pictures were taken back in November. This outfit came together really easily. This dress was on super sale at Lulu's. I loved it and needed my cart to be above $50 to get free shipping, so I got it. Since it was cold outside, I added tights. In the summer, I plan on wearing this dress with sandals and a big straw hat. I love headbands (great way to cover up day three hair!) and I thought this leopard print one really pulled the rest of my outfit together.

Thanks so much for reading! Have a great weekend!

One of my favorite colors this fall has been mustard. It's been everywhere. I jumped right on this trend. I wore this mustard dress to a wedding a few weeks ago and I wore this mustard turtleneck to work last week. It doesn't stop there! Other recent mustard purchases include a mustard blanket scarf I plan on wearing when it gets a little cooler and the mustard dress in my post today!

I snatched this dress up at Forever 21 last week. With a $15 price tag, how could I not get it?  The color was just perfect. I love dresses made out of sweater-material. You can't tell in the pictures, but the dress has a little breast pocket. The pocket came in super handy when my hands were full at work. I stuck my phone in the pocket!

When I put the dress on, I knew it needed a little something extra, so I added this fun scarf. It's actually a hair accessory, but it works perfectly as a scarf too, doesn't it?

Other mustard-wear I'm eyeing: these gorgeous mustard pants, this mustard pencil dress that's perfect for the office, and this fun off-the-shoulder mustard sweater dress

A Little Gaudy

HAPPY FALL! Finally, cooler temperatures. While other people love summer, the beach, and the ocean, I prefer fall. I love sitting on our balcony with a hot cup of coffee, making cozy foods like chicken pot pie, and lighting a million fall scented candles (like pumpkin spice and apple cinnamon!).

So, onto my outfit! I went to Zara the other day with my friend. The mission: to find these pearl bedazzled jeans. I came out with the jeans, the top in this post, and these amazing cobalt heels. The heels were returned shortly (what's the opposite of buyers remorse?). I kept the top - because how can I not? How cute is it? I obviously kept the jeans too.

If you know me, follow me on instagram, or read my blog, you know that I'm basically a grandma. I'm an (almost) 30 year old  who would much rather lay on the couch reading a book than go out. That totally transcends to my wardrobe. I love anything "grandma-esque", and anything gaudy. This top is a little gaudy, but I love it. The printed jewel design is just so me and added some much needed flair to the boring work outfits I've been wearing lately. I paired the top with black pants, gold earrings, and one of my favorite lipsticks, Captive by Mac (I wore this shade on my wedding day!).

If you're feeling a little blah lately like me, do yourself a favor and go buy this shirt!

Thanks so much for reading! Enjoy the fall weather :)
