Soft Summer Colors

During the summer months, I'm drawn to pastel colors. Light purples and pinks, Easter egg greens, pale blues, and subtle yellow colors. That's why I bought this beautiful Madewell top. I was in San Francisco for business travel a few days ago. I did my version of sightseeing and went to the mall across the street from where I was staying. I popped into Madewell, where they were having a SUPER sale. I actually have this same top in multiple colors and decided to get this mauve color. If you don't have any of Madewell's whisper cotton tanks, you have to get yourself some. They are SO comfortable and can be worn to work or on the weekends. I've worn this top with jeans and leggings and also dressed it up for the office with a skirt - like in today's post!

To dress up this simple tank and make it office appropriate, I wore it with a midi white eyelet skirt and white slide sandals. The earrings are also from Madewell and I fell in LOVE with how fun and unique they are. Obviously, you know I don't ever leave the house with lipstick, so I added a pop of color to my lips to complete my look.  During the summer months, most people dress a little bit more casual in the office. If I wore this in the fall or winter and needed to look a little bit more polished, I would add a fun blazer or cozy cardigan.

How is your week going? It's crazy that this summer is almost over. Time is JUST FLYING BY. It's less than three months till my wedding. I can't believe it.

Thanks so much for reading!

Lady in White

Hi Friends! I'm back after a long hiatus! It's been a crazy, crazy whirlwind the last few months. I really, really hope to get back to posting regularly. I'm also excited to be working with a few brands that I love, so keep an eye out for some fun posts!

This dress has two things I love and one thing I'm afraid to wear: I love the beautiful, white color and I love the lace pattern. The thing I'm afraid of: midi dresses! Midi dresses are dresses that fall just below the knee. For short girls like me, it's a hard look to pull off. On taller girls, it's beautiful!  Midi dresses are perfect for the office though. They're conservative and stylish. I probably wouldn't have bought this dress if it wasn't on super sale for like literally $4 at Forever 21. I'm glad I bought it though. I love the way it looks! Since the dress is sleeveless, I added a white blazer and matching white sandals. I did a bright red lip, added a cute pair of earrings, and put my hair in a simple ponytail.

How should you style a midi dress or skirt? Any way you want! Literally. I chose to wear mine with flat sandals, but this dress would look just as cute in heels or wedges. Make sure you select the right length! The dress shouldn't be at that awkward too-long-to-be-a-mini-skirt or too-short-to-be-a-maxi-skirt stage. Accentuate your waist! I did this with a cropped blazer, but you can also add a belt. Try and also wear the same or similar colors to create a monochromatic look. If you're petite like me, pick a midi dress that doesn't have a crazy pattern - this can make you look shorter than you are!

So, a LOT has been going on since my last post in May: I went to Japan (it was amazing, and there's a ton of posts on my Instagram if you'd like to see!), I went to California (again, ha!), and my bridesmaids threw me an amazing bachlorette party (pictures of that too on Instagram!). I have a ton of exciting events coming up like my bridal shower and of course, my WEDDING which is just 3 short months away! It's surreal.

Have a great week :)

Try-Day Friday - Part One

How many times have you put together an outfit that's totally out of your comfort zone psyched to wear it and then chickened out? This happens to me all the time! A few weeks ago, my bestie and I took a trip to the mall for Easter outfits. I walked out without an Easter outfit, but with these jeans. I thought that they were so fun, fresh, and exciting. I loved the frayed bottom. I put the jeans on to wear to work on a casual Friday a few days later. Just as I was walking through the door...I chickened out. My insecurities got the best of me. What would people think of these out-of-the-box jeans? What if someone at work made a comment about my outfit?

Dia&Co. inspired me to step out of my comfort zone and celebrate Try-Day Friday by wearing these jeans to work. I'm so glad I did, because I'm obsessed with this outfit and these jeans. Since the jeans are a bold statement piece, I wore a plain white t-shirt with casual layered gold necklaces and silver shoes. Yes, it's totally fine to mix gold and silver. I do it all the time! Of course, I topped my look off with a bold lipstick.

Dia&Co. offers a curated shopping experience of gorgeous clothes delivered straight to your doorstep. Dia&Co. challenges the idea that certain clothes are for certain people. Anyone can truly wear anything.

So, my readers, I challenge you to wear something that's out of your comfort zone this week.  I'll be back next week to show you another out-of-the-box outfit that involves white, white, and more white. Thank you so much for reading :)

Spring Fling

Hi Friends! I'm back after a long hiatus. One of my goals is to be a better blogger and go back to posting at least once a week. Sometimes, life just gets in the way. It's been crazy with work (I've been traveling a ton), wedding planning, other friends weddings/baby showers, family obligations, etc. I hope I can catch my breath soon! I promise I'll be blogging more. Now that the weather has gotten nicer and the sun is out longer, it'll be a lot easier to take pictures too.

So, the other day, my mom and I went to the mall to look for some wedding shoes. I need the perfect pair of heels for my big day and my mom wanted a comfortable shoe for my wedding day. We didn't have much luck! But... I did walk out with this gorgeous top from Primark. I got so many compliments on it. You HAVE to get it. Not only is it stunning and flattering, it's also really well made and was only $15. A win in my book.

I paired it with black pants, nude heels, and a bright pink lipstick. In the summer, I plan on wearing the top with white pants for an all-white look. It would even look cute with denim shorts and sandals. This top is perfect for spring and summer events like baby showers, bridal showers, mothers day and fathers day, etc! The blouse is also available in navy. I'm glad I went with the white one, I already have so many dark colors in my closet.

I searched high and low for this top online, but couldn't find it. I linked a similar style, but it doesn't have the pattern. I just purchased this top last Friday, so definitely go to Primark ASAP if you feel like you've gotta have it!

I'm heading to Austin for work next week and wouldn't this top just be perfect outfit to wear out to dinner? I'll definitely be packing it.

Thanks so much for reading!
